The Eightieth Session of the Commission

New York, 16 to 27 March 2015

The International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) held its 80th session at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 16 to 27 March 2015. As in the prior two sessions, the comprehensive review of the United Nations common system compensation package dominated discussions at the session. In this regard, the Commission reviewed the progress and recommendations of its working groups. Specifically, it considered proposals on the salary scale structure, performance incentives, education grant, repatriation grant and allowances relating to hardship and staff members’ dependents. While some of the working groups’ proposals were endorsed, the Commission provided further guidance and instructions for the completion of the review by summer 2015.

The Commission was also presented with the result of the Salary surveys of best prevailing conditions of employment in Kingston, Jamaica as well as the report from the Advisory Committee on Post Adjustment Questions on its thirty-seventh session.
