What measures have been established to ensure transparency of the survey process?

Every aspect of the planning and execution of this survey involves all key players, including the ICSC secretariat and the survey coordinator working in collaboration with the local survey committee.

 

In headquarters duty stations, retail price data is gathered by ICSC staff directly, and observed by independent survey price consultants. For non-HQ Group I and Group II duty stations, pricing agents are recruited locally by the duty station’s survey coordinator. Retail outlets for the pricing exercise are not selected by ICSC, but by the duty station’s survey coordinator. The expenditure surveys are also coordinated by the local survey committee with support from the ICSC secretariat in terms of the provision of tools and resources to facilitate the execution of the survey. The data provided on expenditure surveys come directly from staff members.
