The International Civil Service Commission is a subsidiary body of the General Assembly. It was established in 1974 to regulate and coordinate the conditions of service for the United Nations common system staff. The Commission is composed of 15 members appointed by the General Assembly in their personal capacity. Two members of the Commission are designated Chairman and Vice-Chairman and serve on a full-time basis.
